VSF prices slightly up in Chinese market last week

In the Chinese domestic market, prices of Cotton Linter were spotted at RMB 2750/ton during the last week ending August 8, 2014, which were steady compared to the previous week. In the last updates from market, offer prices were in the range of RMB 2800/ton to RMB 3000/ton. Trading prices were in the range of RMB 2700/ton to RMB 2900/ton.

Prices of Dissolving Pulp were assessed at RMB 6125/ton in the last week, which were almost stable from the previous week. Prices of imported Dissolving Wood Pulp were quoted in the range of US$ 830/ton to US$ 835/ton. Prices of Pulp imported from the US and Europe were in the range of US$ 850/ton to US$ 870/ton and US$ 840ton to 850/ton, respectively, while those from Canada were in the range of US$ 770/ton to US$ 820/ton. Prices of Pulp imported from Sweden were between US$ 840/ton and US$ 850/ton.

VSF prices were spotted at RMB 11860/ton in the last week, which were slightly up from the previous week. At the beginning of the week, VSF market opened at RMB 11800/ton, but prices went up thereafter and were offered in the range of RMB 11800/ton to RMB 11900/ton. In the Chinese market, offers for imported VSF were witnessed in the range of US$ 1.58/kg to US$ 1.64/kg. Market analysts expect VSF prices to remain steady in the upcoming week.

In the last week, VFY market showed steady trend and prices were witnessed at RMB 34600/ton. VFY market prices were stable as downstream buyers showed bearish buying sentiments during that period. VFY producers kept offers in the range of RMB 34600/ton to RMB 34650/ton. In the Chinese market, offers for imported VFY hovered in the range of US$ 5600/ton to US$ 5700/ton.
