PTA prices fall uniformly across Asian markets last week

A uniform fall of US$ 5/ton was witnessed in average prices of purified telephthalic acid (PTA) across Asian markets during the last week ending October 3, 2014, mainly due to weak upstream and downstream product prices in the region.
In Indian market, the average price of PTA decreased by $5/ton to $925/ton, down 0.54 percent from the earlier week ending September 26, 2014.
In Far East Asia, the average PTA price dropped by $5/ton or 0.56 percent from the earlier week to $890/ton last week.
Similarly, in Southeast Asian market, the average price of PTA declined by $5/ton or 0.54 percent to $915/ton in the last week.
