PTA & Ethylene prices drop in Far East Asian markets

Paraxylene (PX) prices decreased in Asian markets. In the S E Asian region, PX prices declined and were offered in the range of US$ 1035/ton to US$ 1040/ton. In the F E Asian market, PX prices plunged and were quoted at US$ 1025/ton. Prices of PX imported from the Taiwanese market kept inert and were offered in the range of US$ 1050/ton to US$ 1055/ton.
 
PTA prices declined in the Asian region. In the S E Asian market, PTA prices dropped and were quoted in the range of US$ 795/ton to US$ 800/ton. In the F E Asian market, PTA prices plunged and were offered at US$ 775/ton. Prices of PTA imported from the Taiwanese market inched down and were quoted in the range of US$ 785/ton to US$ 790/ton. In the Chinese domestic market, PTA prices went down and were offered in the range of RMB 5495/ton to RMB 5545/ton.
 
Ethylene prices showed mixed trend in Asian markets. In the S E Asian market, Ethylene prices kept inert and were assessed in the range of US$ 1270ton to US$ 1275/ton. In the F E Asian region, Ethylene prices moved down and were quoted at US$ 1290/ton. In the US market, Ethylene prices kept steady and were quoted in the range of 56.00 cents/pound to 56.50 cents/pound. Ethylene prices kept inert in the European international market and were quoted at US$ 1180/ton, while prices went down in the domestic market and were quoted at € 955/ton.
 
MEG prices plunged in Asian markets. In the S E Asian region, MEG prices moved down and were quoted at US$ 835/ton. In the Chinese international market, MEG prices kept stable and were assessed in the range of US$ 830/ton to US$ 835/ton. In the Chinese domestic market, MEG prices decreased and were assessed in the range of RMB 6000/ton to RMB 6050/ton.
 
In the S E Asian region, prices of BG PET Chips kept stable in the range of US$ 1140/ton to US$ 1180/ton, and some deals were concluded in the range of US$ 1150/ton to US$ 1190/ton. In the F E Asian market, selling offers kept unchanged in the range of US$ 1160/ton to US$ 1200/ton, while talked prices were quoted in the range of US$ 1170/ton to US$ 1210/ton. In the Chinese market, BG PET Chips’ prices went down and were assessed in the range of RMB 7975/ton to RMB 8025/ton.
 
In the Korean market, prices of FG PET Chips kept stable and were assessed in the range of US$ 1010/ton to US$ 1050/ton. In the Indian market, FOB based prices hovered in the range of US$ 1020/ton to US$ 1060/ton. In the Chinese market, FG PET Chips’ prices kept inert and were offered in the range of RMB 7450/ton to RMB 7500/ton.
 
PSF prices plunged in the Asian region. In the F E Asian market, PSF prices declined to US$ 1185/ton. In the S E Asian market, PSF selling prices plunged to US$ 1085/ton. In the Chinese domestic market, PSF prices went down and were quoted in the range of RMB 8200/ton to RMB 8225/ton.
 
In the Chinese domestic market, prices of Polyester POY, DTY and FDY kept inert at RMB 8750/ton, RMB 10650/ton and RMB 8800/ton, respectively. In the export market, offers for POY, DTY and FDY went down to US$ 1180/ton, US$ 1440/ton and US$ 1170/ton, respectively.
