The just concluded edition of Blenders Pride Fashion Tour 2014 in Gurgaon, a leading financial and industrial hub in the Indian state of Haryana, featured an array of chic contemporary collections by Indian brands Gaurav Gupta and Little Shilpa.

The event saw a cutting edge, luscious timeless and sophisticated range with flattering drapes and sensuous colours from the London’s Central Saint Martin’s College alumnus Gaurav Gupta.

While talking about the collection, the Altaroma Altamoda participant says, “I am delighted to be a part of Blenders Pride Fashion Tour. Egyptian tall gowns, multi-draped futuristic saris and sari gowns and fantastical red carpet glamour comes alive in this collection. Be dipped in shimmer, gold, ivory and flaming orange and explore your inner goddess. It’s time to be sexy and glamorous.”

Shilpa Chavan, the Mumbai-based milliner-cum-stylist-cum-designer behind the Little Shilpa label, featured three contemporary collections- Disco Denimals, Grey Matters and Black Magic. The Disco Denimals range included animal iconography and discotheque imagery inspired patterns. The Grey Matters line displayed several off-beat reinterpretations of the two most popular Indian attires, saree and katoricholi.

The designer spoke about her passion for fashion designing in a statement, “I believe style is being bold. Being true to yourself is a portrayal of self. It is my intuition that makes me brave enough to take my decisions in life, no matter what others say. Faith in oneself and the courage to take bold steps is my definition of style.”

Now in its tenth edition, the five city high-octane fashion-meets-entertainment trip Blenders Pride Fashion Tour 2014 is now set to travel to Mumbai (November 29 to 30, 2014) as its next destination, followed by Bangalore (December 6 to 7, 2014) and Kolkata (December12 to 13, 2014).

The Mumbai leg will showcase ensembles from Neeta Lulla, Suneet Verma, Little Shilpa and Shivan and Naresh. The Bangalore line up includes Varun Bahl, Abraham and Thakore, Little Shilpa and Gaurav Gupta. The Kolkata tour will see designers Varun Bahl, Abraham and Thakore, Pankaj and Nidhi and Namrata Joshipura. (PB)
