Polyester value chain prices largely stable in Asia

Paraxylene (PX) prices declined in Asian markets. PX prices decreased in the SE Asia, ranging between US$ 1015 and 1020 per ton. In the FE Asian market, PX prices plunged to US$ 1000 per ton. Prices of PX imported from the Taiwanese market decreased to a range of US$ 1030 to 1035 per ton.

PTA prices plunged in Asia. The SE Asian market witnessed a decrease in PTA prices ranging between US$ 770 and 775 per ton. In the FE Asian market, PTA prices declined to US$ 755 per ton. Prices of PTA imported from the Taiwanese market were stable at a range of US$ 760 to 765 per ton. In the Chinese domestic market, PTA prices decreased to a range of RMB 5645 to 5695 per ton.

Ethylene prices remained unaffected in Asian markets. In the SE Asian market, Ethylene prices were stable ranging between US$ 1210 and 1215 per ton. In the FE Asian market, Ethylene prices were stable at US$ 1130 per ton. In the US market, Ethylene prices went down ranging between 50.00 to 51.50 cents per pound. Ethylene prices went down in the European international market as well as in the domestic market at US$ 1175 per ton and € 955 per ton, respectively.

MEG prices plunged in Asia. In the SE Asia, MEG prices decreased to US$ 880 per ton. In the Chinese international market, MEG prices decreased ranging between US$ 880 and 885 per ton. In the Chinese domestic market, MEG prices decreased to a range of RMB 6360 to 6410 per ton.

In the SE Asia, prices of BG PET Chips remained unaffected ranging between US$ 1145 to 1185 per ton. Some deals steady at the range of US$ 1155 to 1195 per ton. In the FE Asian market, selling offers were stable at the range of US$ 1165 to 1205 per ton, while talked prices were in the range of US$ 1175 to 1215 per ton. In the Chinese market, BG PET Chips prices went down ranging between RMB 7950 and 8000 per ton.

In the Korean market, prices of FG PET Chips remained unaffected between US$ 1020 and 1060 per ton. In the Indian market, FOB based prices were in the range of US$ 1030 to 1070 per ton. In the Chinese market, FG PET Chips prices went down ranging between RMB 7555 and 7605 per ton.

PSF prices declined in Asia.  In the FE Asian market, PSF prices decreased to US$ 1210 per ton. In the SE Asian market, PSF selling prices plunged to US$ 1110 per ton. In the Chinese domestic market, PSF prices decreased ranging between RMB 8300 and 8325 per ton.

In the Chinese domestic market, prices of Polyester POY, DTY and FDY were stable at RMB 9100 per ton, RMB 10750 per ton and RMB 8900 per ton, respectively. In the export market, offers for POY declined to US$ 1240 per ton, while DTY and FDY were stable at US$ 1470 per ton and US$ 1195 per ton, respectively.
