Over 17 talents show at Vietnam International Fashion Week

The just concluded inaugural edition of Vietnam International Fashion Week showcased more than 17 catwalk shows presented by a talented mix of nearly 17 national and international designers.
The Vietnamese designer and member of the Asian Couture Federation (ACF), Nguyen Cong Tri, opened the event with an haute couture collection titled No. 8. Inspired by futurism and science fiction, the shimmering avant-garde menswear and womenswear pieces were paired with headgears painted with the icons of social media platforms.
Another local fashion talent Chung Thanh Phong chose to highlight a catwoman-inspired range of sexy, bold clothing. Named as Cat in the City, the line comprised evening gowns in three key tones of white, black and gray enhanced with motifs of high-rise buildings.
Drawing inspiration from the image of swans, designer Le Thanh Hoa created a short elevated skirt and dress heavy collection titled Flowers. Butterflies played as the source of inspiration for the fashion talent Adrian Anh Tuanat who showcased a line titled Butterfly Effect, which included fitted mini dresses and long gowns with wing-shaped sleeves, on the third day of the event.
In addition to local names, the Ho Chi Minh City held six-day-long catwalk extravaganza also witnessed a collection inspired by the philosophy of Buddhism from the Thai brand Issue’s designer Roj Singhakul.
The international line-up also included names like Korean menswear label Zio Song, Frederick Lee (Singapore), Tamae Hirokawa of Japanese brand SOMARTA, Paris-based duo Livia Stoianova and Yassen Samouilov, Roman talent Antonio Grimaldi and the Mongolian label Tsolmandakh Munkhuu (Tsolo Munkh).
The event was co-hosted and supported by internationally recognized organizations like FIDe Fashion Weeks, Multimedia Joint Stock Company, Asian Couture Federation (ACF) and French fashion school Atelier Chardon Savard. (PB)
