Ethylene prices dropped down in parts of Asia on Monday (Jan 5) mainly due to poor upstream energy prices along with sluggish downstream demand in the region.
The price fall was supported by ample product availability and lackluster demand for downstream products.
Prices in S E Asia and India were assessed at US$ 990/ton yesterday, lower by US$ 5/ton as compared to the prices by the end of last week.
In N E Asia, prices went down by US$ 5/ton on Jan 5 to US$ 925/ton, as against US$ 930/ton at the end of previous week.
However, ethylene prices kept stable in Korea and Japan at US$ 900/ton on Jan 5.
