The Inkjet India conference series, dedicated to leading the textile industry towards innovation in digital print, has successfully completed five years.

The fifth international conference – Inkjet India 2015 – was successfully hosted by Inkjet Forum India on February 26, 2015, in New Delhi. The conference was presented by Durst Phototechnik AG and co-presented by SPG Prints and Sensient Imaging Technologies. Other Partners included Konica Minolta, Blue Jade and Kornit Digital.

The conference provided insight into diverse topics focused on digital printing for apparel and home textiles including market trends, technology updates, design inspiration, sustainability, and ecommerce.

Inkjet India 2015 also featured an exclusive exhibition area where technology and ink providers could interact with the delegates and potential clients to showcase their products and technology.

Alongside the conference, Inkjet Forum India also conducted exclusive ‘invite only’ Inkjet workshops aimed at addressing and resolving specific technical, operational and commercial issues in the entire digital textile printing supply chain.

Explaining the objective of the practical training sessions through workshops to fibre2fashion,  Aditya Chandavarkar, founder Inkjet Forum India, said, “Being a leading knowledge sharing platform on digital textile printing we want to facilitate companies to build successful business models around this (digital textile printing) technology.”

Digital Textile printing has been present in India for the past 15 years, but the high print quality and superior colour accuracy being produced in other countries has not been achieved to the same extent in India. One reason for this is the lack of precise understanding and poor implementation of digital colour matching and profiling standards.

Hence, Inkjet Forum India started an initiative to conduct workshops on colour matching/profiling for digital textile printing at two locations in Delhi and Surat supported by DPInnovations, Colorjet and Xrite. Each location will be fully equipped with required printing and colour measuring equipment for the participants to practically experience the entire workflow, according to the Forum.

The workshop series is the first of its kind worldwide which provides real hands on knowledge ensuring the optimum print results can be obtained from every type of digital printing equipment and software. For company owners, participation in the workshop will ensure greater success, less errors and increase the confidence of the textile industry in India towards digital textile printing technology.
