The total sales of Khadi Gramodyog Bhawan, for the period from April 13 to April 28, 2015 increased over 60 per cent as compared to corresponding period of previous year, according to a government statement.

The sales figure was notched up at the “Kurta Payjama Exhibition” inaugurated on the occasion of 60th foundation day of Khadi Gramodhyog Bhawan on April 13.

The sale of readymade garments increased by record 86 per cent. The purchases made by women and youth during the exhibition is remarkable and over one lakh customers purchased KVI products.

To popularize khadi amongst the youth, Khadi Bhawan has arranged the display of readymade garments exclusively designed by students of National Institute of Fashion Technology (NIFT), the statement said.

In view of overwhelming response of customers at the Kurta Pyjama Exhibition and considering quantum jump in the sale, Khadi Gramodhyog Bhawan is organizing another exhibition during this summer from May 16 at its premier outlet at Connaught Place, New Delhi in which exclusive range of khadi summer collection will be on sale.
