The British Wool Marketing Board (BWMB) has launched its new website.

The newly designed fresher-looking site includes updated information on the BWMB’s activities, such as shearing training, marketing, the regional structure and useful advice for producers on fleece rolling and presentation. The new website is fully compatible and responsive to tablets and smart phones, which is essential in the modern world of communication making it easier and more effective to navigate, according to a press release.

Ian Buchanan, BWMB chairman said, “The new website allows us to keep producers informed as well as showcase the important work the BWMB is doing to maximise the value of their wool. We hope producers and indeed anyone with an interest in wool will see the new site design as our continued commitment to engage and communicate with our producers in raising awareness of the BWMB’s important role and that of the wool industry.”

“An important, easy to use feature of the new site will enable producers to register online or to amend their registration details. More detailed information is also available on fleece presentation and on the quality control scheme the BWMB operates across all depots. I’d encourage all producers to take some time to have a look at this new site and find out more about the work being done on their behalf by their organisation,”, he added

Another important development in recent months is the BWMB’s presence on social media with active accounts on Facebook, Twitter, Pinterest, and Instagram.

Gareth Jones, producer communications manager, BWMB said, “Social Media gives us an excellent opportunity to further raise awareness of the Board’s activities but also to engage and introduce the wool industry to a whole new audience. The potential audience reach social media provides is huge – our social media platforms will hopefully ensure our producers and other farming organisations are kept fully up to date on our activities.

“The new website provides links to all our social media channels. We hope users will find the information on the new website and social media channels both interesting and informative,” Jones added. (GK)
