Good rains propel cotton sowing in few Indian states

There has been timely rainfall in Madhya Pradesh which has helped the farmers start cotton sowing in this region. The price quoted for good quality 30 mm Bunny was Rs 35,400 spot per candy while 28 mm cotton was sold at Rs 33,700 spot per candy.

In Andhra Pradesh, there has been good rainfall in the last couple of days which will be helpful to the farmers to sow cotton for the upcoming season.

CCI which has picked up most of the cotton in this region has sold 30 mm Bunny of Warangal at Rs 35,200 spot per candy and 30 mm Bunny of Guntur has been sold at Rs 35,400 spot per candy while 31mm Mcu-5 is sold at Rs 36,000 spot per candy.

There has timely rainfall in most parts of North Karnataka and cotton sowing has already started in this region while in areas surrounding Andhra Pradesh, cotton sowing will take some time as it has just started raining.

The price quoted for good quality Bunny of 30 mm was Rs 36,000 spot per candy while Dch-32 of 35 mm was quoted at Rs 51,500 spot per candy and Jayadhar cotton was sold at Rs 27,500 spot per candy.

Seed cotton arrivals in Tamil Nadu began in some tracts in Delta region and also Konganapuram area. Prices ranged Rs 3750 to 4200 per quintal of seed cotton. (AR)
