Acordis' Diolen operations COBAFI sells to Sabanci Holding

Netherlands based polyester & yarn manufacturer Acordis' Diolen polyester industrial yarn and tire cord fabric operations COBAFI (Companhia Bahiana de Fibras) based in Cama ç ari, Brazil have been sold to Haci Omer Sabanci Holding, A.S.
The transaction follows from Diolen Industrial Fibers' strategy, which emphasizes serving local customers from a local supply source. The acquisition by Sabanci, which already has successful operations in South America, enables COBAFI to further strengthen its position as leading supplier of polyester yarns for tire reinforcement and technical applications in South America.
“As a leading European manufacturer, Diolen Industrial Fibers concentrates on industrial production in Europe. As a “local” supplier we focus on increasing competitiveness, setting and protecting high quality and service standards, and on providing the best price/performance ratio to our customers in our “local” European market place,” said Jan Michiels, CEO of Diolen Industrial Fibers.
Diolen Industrial Fibers is a multi-national company which is producing high-tenacity polyester yarns for a wide variety of technical applications and tire reinforcement, marketed under the brand name Diolen.
