1st International Textile Educational Conference at Chennai from July 1, 2005

The 1st International Textile Educational Conference organised by The Textile Association (India), under the theme Global Textile Education, will be held at Hotel Taj Coromandel in Chennai, Tamil Nadu State, India, between 1st to 4th July 2005.

The prime objectives of the conference are to bring together Intellectuals, Academicians, Research Associates, Scholars, Industrialists and Students to a common platform to deliberate on important issues pertaining to global textile education and to set the stage for more innovative and collaborative ventures. The conference is also aimed at sorting out the ways and schemes to overcome the challenges and threats faced by the Textile Industry and Textile Teaching Institutes in the post quota regime and the opportunities which can be availed thereof.

The Textile Association (India) is the single largest body of the Textile Professionals and Technocrats in India, having more than 18,000 members with 27 affiliated units through out the country. It is well recognised by the textile industry, various trade bodies and agencies as well as state and central government organisations and departments. With a mission of disseminating knowledge, the Textile Association (India) through its various units, regularly organises seminars, conferences, workshops, refresher courses, exhibitions etc.

The co-sponsors and partner organisations of the Textile Association (India) are WHO, UNICEF, UNESCO, Department of Education, IRDC.It is the founder member of Federation of Asian Professional Textile Associations (FAPTA) and India International Textile Machinery Exhibition Society (India ITME Society). It is also actively involved with CII, FICCI and TRAs. It has rendered a strong support to the activities of Ministry of Textiles, Government of India.
