Avon Cycles sends knitwear consignment abroad on trial

India's leading bicycle manufacturer Avon Cycles has recently despatched export consignment of knitted t-shirts, shirts on trial to different countries, according to Mr Onkar Singh Pahwa, Managing Director.
Avon currently is outsourcing these knitwears from local sources and clearly testing waters before it goes wholehog in this business aimed at diversification.
With over 50 years of successful marketing of its famous bicycles, it has recently launched battery driven 'e-bike'.
e-bike, which targets children of 12-16, will enter Uttar Pradesh, Bihar next month following its earlier success in Punjab, Chandigarh, Haryana and Delhi.
Avon Cycles currently exports bicycles to around 80 countries including Afghanistan, Angola, Argentina, Bahrain, Greece, Germany, Ghana, Madagascar, Mauritius, Singapore, South Africa, SriLanka.
Speaking exclusive to Fibre2fashion over the telephone, Paahwa said it was still too early to say much about the venture and will spell details at the right time.
