In 2005, HydroSpun Nonwoven GmbH (Germany) acquired an industrial SPUNjet line from Rieter Perfojet. This machine is the latest development from Rieter and is able to produce new nonwovens fabrics with characteristics never reached before. A new market is born.

HydroSpun Nonwoven GmbH - Innovation in spunlaid fabrics
The commissioning of the SPUNjet line with 3.2 meters width, was achieved the 29th of August 2006. For already a month, the machine has been producing spunbond fabrics for technical applications thanks to the reliable spunbond technology of Rieter: PERFObondTM 3000.

Since September the line is also equipped with the state-of-the-art hydroentanglement system, JETlace 3000. Since that time it has produced also SPUNjet rolls with a weight range from 25 to 120 g/m2.

Thanks to the improvement of nonwovens properties, compared to spunbond, the SPUNjet technology finds its place in more than 80% of the nonwovens sectors : such as hygiene applications but also for wipes, building / roofing, geotextiles, household, filtration, substrates and automotive.

Today the HydroSpun's order book is full, and the forecast of sales for the coming months is very promising thanks to the attractive and innovative nonwovens fabrics offered by HydroSpun.

Rieter opens new doors in spunmelt through SPUNjet and thanks to the collaboration between both companies, a new generation of nonwovens fabrics is now available on the European markets.

Rieter Group operates internationally, developing and producing sophisticated systems for the textile and automotive industries. In fiscal year 2005, Rieter generated sales of Mio. CHF 3,160 with some 14,650 employees worldwide. The Textile Systems Division accounted for Mio. CHF 1,109 and the Automotive Systems Division for Mio. CHF 2,037 of these total sales.
