Provisional tax of 8% on cotton picking machines, next year

Tariff Commission of the State Council recently announced '2007 tariff implementation program', which will become effective since January 1, 2007.

The new program made some adjustments on import tariff, export tariff, tariff codes and import tariff policies of some commodities and imported goods.

Of which, cotton-picking machines and some other commodities will implement provisional tax rates.

The most-favored-nation (MFN) tariff rate for cotton-picking machine is 8 percent in 2007. The provisional tax is 5 percent.

MFN rate of comber clamp plate, winding spindles, electronic yarn clearer is 6 percent in 2007. The provisional rate is 3 percent in 2007.

MFN rate of ring spinning equipments is 6 percent in 2007. The provisional rate is 0 in 2007.

MFN rate of soft finishing machine, sanding machine, and mercerizing machine is 12 percent in 2007; provisional tax rate is 10 percent in 2007.

MFN rate of fabric skimming machine is 12 percent in 2007, provisional tax rate is 6 percent in 2007.
