Technical textiles to help crumpling industry

Neither Government nor textile industry has taken any concrete steps for the development of technical textile products.
Demand for technical textile products is increasing drastically in the global market.
Technical textile products are those used for specific purpose such as fire fighting and protective gear, industry, aerospace, military, marine, medical, construction, geo-textile, transportation and other high-tech applications.
Currently, Japan, Germany, US, UK, France and China have monopoly over production of technical textiles.
To cash in on increasing demand for technical textiles China has launched a comprehensive programme called 'Double Incentive Scheme for Technical Textiles'. India has also taken initiative by announcing relief packages for the promotion of technical textiles.
Meanwhile, only one mill is engaged in production of technical textile without any incentives from the Government.
