Japan will shortly commence trade talks with Vietnam to raise bilateral trade from US $10 billion in 2006 to $17 billion within 2010.
Country's Deputy Trade Minister Phan The Rue is heading the delegation to visit Japan on January 14, 2007 for discussions on a bilateral trade agreement. Both parties will stress on boosting exports.
Sources from Vietnam Ministry of Trade informed that in the previous year goods worth about $6 billion were exported, which included textiles, apparel, coal, crude oil, etc.
Country is also planning to negotiate with Chile for a bilateral trade agreement in 2007.
