In the five years of post-WTO, with the rapid growth of Guangdong garment export, the industry must also recognize the fact that Europe and the United States often make use of anti-dumping, market economy status and social responsibility standards as new measures to limit Chinese clothing exports, meanwhile Turkey, Argentina, Mexico, and other developing countries have followed suit and started to limit Chinese clothing exports.
Therefore, in the face of the ever-changing trade environment, Guangdong garment enterprises in addition to accelerate the readjustment of the industrial structure, shifting from a simple garment manufacturing base to costume design, export of independent brands, further increase the added value of products, they should also, at the same time, strengthen the roles of industrial associations to promote communications in advance, minimize or resolve trade frictions.
