Fashion giant Hong Kong Tristate Holdings recently located in Hefei has started massive recruitment. However comparing to the smooth progress of the project, the recruitment of skilled workers has encountered unexpected resistance.
Wang, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Hong Kong Tristate Holdings, said recently that since the open recruitment last November, up to now they have only attracted more than 100 skilled workers.
For the next three years, the Group's production base in Hefei will demand more than 3,000 people in garment manufacturing. It is a vivid contrast between the huge demand and labor shortage.
It is learned that nearly 30 percent of the workers in the clothing enterprises in coastal areas are from Anhui. However, the number of local garment workers in Anhui is decreasing forcing some of the processing enterprises to hire workers from other places.
In this regard, the Secretary-General of the Institute of Anhui Garment Association Ye Liang pointed out that the higher wages of coastal cities were once the main reason for migrant workers, but now the reality of the situation has undergone great changes. The returning personnel will play an important role in the revitalization of apparel industries in Anhui province.
