One of the most celebrated footwear companies, Blundstone, has decided to move its production base to Thailand and India.
Company says that manufacturing in Australia, which has much higher labor and material charge, raises the production cost, inturn hiking the market price by more than $10.
Blundstone is struggling with the rising cost as they have been unable to extract the price from their customers.
The operations will be closed within a few months and almost 300 workers in Tasmania and around 60 in New Zealand will lose their jobs.
