Company Social Responsibilities (CSR) award in Vietnam is presented to those companies, which have improved working and living conditions for employees, made efforts to protect the environment and encouraged their staff to engage in this process.
This year annual award ceremony was organized by ActionAid Vietnam at Ha Noi on January 18. The Vice Chairman of National Assembly Truong Quang Duoc was present at the award function.
Shyang Hung Cheng, a wholly foreign invested company from the Republic of Taiwan was among 11 prize winners for the year 2006. Around 50 companies from the textile, garment and leather shoe sectors nationwide had participated in the ceremony.
The competition was co-sponsored by the UN Industrial Development Organisation (UNIDO), the German Technology Cooperation Agency (GTZ) and the International Labour Organisation (ILO).
