Adwaith to venture into home textiles

Adwaith Lakshi Industries Ltd is to venture into home textiles sector to manufacture terry towels and bed linen mainly for export, a top company executive said.

The company, one of the world's leading manufacturers of bobbin holders for spinning industry, plans to invest Rs 15 crore, as part of its diversification programme, said Ravi Sam, Managing Director, Adwaith Lakshi Industries Ltd.

Initially Kaniyur facility, having weaving, sizing and processing facilities, would produce 3.5 tons of fabric per day for international market, Ravi said.

The company with brand name of 'Naman,' for its products, would also export fabrics as per requirement of buyers and customers, he said.

Commercial production is slated to begin by April with test marketing of its products already undertaken in Spain and China.

Company plans to concentrate on Europe, USA and the Middle East, as they are expected generate good demand for terry towels and bed linen, he said.

Home Textiles expo which is scheduled to be held at Birmingham from Jan 21 will display the company's products, said Ravi.
