South Asia home based products expo to be held soon

Ministry of Commerce and Industry plans to assist in holding South Asia home based products expo. This show for the time being will only display home-based products.
But trading of such products is not allowed and it would take time for obtaining permission for the same.
According to estimates, home based products account for 20 percent of exports and 24 percent of imports in GDP.
Out of 37 million employments generated from exports, indirect sector will account for 16 million in 2009-2010.
For the social security of workers in the segment, funds have been introduced for handicrafts and handloom sectors.
