Ginneries clean 0.5mn tons of cotton harvest

About 5,50,000 tons of cotton yield produced in 2006 have been cleaned by ginneries belonging to Turkmenpagta State Concern. This amount is one third of the total cotton harvest last year.

Of the total amount of cotton ginned, 49 percent was supplied by Agricultural Joint-Stock Company, 27 percent by State Reserve Fund, 20 percent by Ministry of Textiles and remaining four percent by Turkmenistan's Ministry of Trade and Consumers Co-operation as well as by joint stock companies.

Sources informed that more than 170 tons of lint cotton was produced by 34 ginneries in the country till today. Ginneries based in Lebap, Mary and Dashoguz provinces cleaned about 1,63,000 tons of cotton.
