Liu Xiang auctions his shoes for noble cause

In a charity auction held at East China's Jiangsu Province, a pair of shoes signed by famous sportsman Liu Xiang fetched US $18,750.
He was surprised at the response that auction has received and was happy with people's willingness to donate.
He and his coach Sun Haiping donated the money for providing assistance to retired athletes.
Liu was also planning to auction his 'world-record-breaking' shoes but denied to reveal any specific date.
