Women trainees land orders for embroidered sarees

A group of NGO's together with the textiles and handloom department took up a laudable task of imparting training women to embroider designs on silk sarees, free of cost.
These women have now received their maiden orders to do embroidery on variety of cotton sarees.
The embroidered sarees is scheduled to be exported to Nigeria, said G Kuppusamy, Junior Engineer, Textile and Handloom Department.
Encouraged by success of first round of training, the association has started training second batch also, said R Perumal, President of an NGO, RWCDS.
