Permanent carpet expo opens in Tabriz

East Azarbaijan province witnessed the opening of a permanent carpet exhibition and art forum recently.
Purpose of opening the expo is to promote local carpet sector and carpet exports. Venue of the expo will also host conferences and carpet competitions.
Sadeq Najafi, Head of East Azarbaijan Commerce Department, informed the media that the permanent exhibition is one of the starting steps to make Tabriz, the province's capital, a global carpet hub.
Province is home for over 4,00,000 carpet weavers.
Rural Hand-Woven Carpets Union has organized the expo. Commerce Department has promised fund of 1.5 billion rials to the union.
