Bilateral trade between India and Taiwan is expected to increase to $3 billion this fiscal from current $2 billion, informed Wang-Li-Tong, first Secretary, Economic Division, Taipei Economic and Cultural Centre, on Tuesday.
Taiwan's export to India at present is $1.4 billion whereas India exports mainly raw materials and chemicals to Taiwan reaching $1.3 billion.
Taiwan has developed strong trade relations with States like Tamil Nadu, Maharashtra, Karnataka, and Delhi and with plans to enhance its trade relations with Gujarat, Taiwan Association of Machinery Industry and Federation of Gujarat Industries (FGI) has planned an exhibition of machinery.
This exhibition would showcase Taiwanese machine tools, food processing machines, packaging machines, plastic and textile machines as well as machinery parts, informed Tong in Vadodara to announce the exhibition.
Present on the occasion, Virendra Gangwal, President, Federation of Gujarat Industries, said, the exhibition would prove important in developing bilateral trade with Taiwan and Gujarat.
