Chemical Fiber Association analysis for 2007

Recently, Ye Yongmao, Vice President, China Chemical Fiber Industry Association, gave analysis on chemical fiber industry development trend in 2007. He said that the chemical fiber industry was in a transition from a quantity and scale industry to an efficient industry seeking technical varieties. The investment direction of chemical fiber industry would turn to the development of high-tech and different fibers.

Relevant data show that China's textile fiber processing volume is expected to reach 36 million tons in 2010. In the next few years, production output of chemical fiber industry will maintain a growth rate between 7-15 percent. Productivity and output growth rate will fall to 7 percent and 5 percent, respectively, by 2010.

Chemical fiber industry will maintain a steady growth in 2007. Chemical fiber industrial competitive on overseas markets and capacity to meet domestic demand will continue to expand.

The end consumer markets will develop along the direction of diversification, difference, function, and brands. Exports will continue to enlarge; particularly exports in polyester filament yarns will grow substantially.

Ye Yongmao points out, the future development of chemical fiber industry in 2007 should focus on making great efforts to develop high-tech, to optimize the industrial structure, promote recycling economy and sustainable development, accelerate the application and exploring in both domestic and overseas markets, further improve China's international competitiveness.
