Woven fabrics maker Narricot Industries has received a US $1.4 million grant from State officials for its new textile plant to be constructed in south-central North Carolina. Non-woven fabrics will be manufactured at this plant, to be used for making airbags and seatbelts.
It is anticipated that the company will recruit 200 new employees in Richmond County within 2010.
This move is part of plans by Government to lure textile firms through technology and necessities, so that they do not set up facilities abroad.
Narricot Industries could pay average wages of $28,980 per annum, more than the County's $25,000 per year average. It is necessary for the company to give minimum 180 jobs and pay average wages of at least $26,082 per annum, for getting total benefit of the grant.
