Lepakshi crafts bazaar-2007 a huge success

The fifth Lepakshi Crafts Bazaar-2007 being held at Swaraj Maidan at Vijayawada since 2002, will continue till February 7. It has drawn over 150 craftsmen from all over the state and neighbouring countries to showcase wares on handicrafts and handlooms.

Cultural programmes are also being organized to entertain customers and visitors, said the organisers.

It is being held to create awareness for artistic handicrafts and textiles and also help increase the earnings of craftsmen.

Crafts Bazaar is exhibiting exquisite collections which includes ceramic pottery from UP, sarees and patch work wall hangings from Orissa, dress material from Kashmir, wood works from Saharanpur, terracotta, bamboo, clay, jute and handloom products from West Bengal, rose wood items from Karnataka wall hangings and dress material from Gujarat and Maharashtra and Tanjore paintings are on display at the exhibition.

Products from Andhra Pradesh include toys from Kondapalli, Etikoppaka and Nirmal, pearls from Nirmal, wood carvings, kalamkari, banjara, terracotta crafts and wood carvings from Chittoor are on display.
