Growth of local industry astonishes US cotton delegation

Delegation of US cotton manufacturers, during their visit in October 2006, was surprised over development of the country.
At present, consumption of cotton textiles is about 50 million packets, largest consumption by any country in the world.
Similarly, about 30 million packets of cotton textiles are produced in domestic industry, world's largest cotton producing country.
Of total 6,000 textile plants currently in the country, 5,000 of them are privately owned.
