Export of specific design carpets on the rise

After US the European countries are also demanding specific carpets rather than traditional which is until now was very nicely accepted in these countries.
This is a matter of concern for the manufacturers of these traditional carpets in Pakistan. Specific carpet producers will see a boost in the exports of their products.
Domotex fair in Germany and Atlanta fair in the US had witnessed the trend for specific carpets.
Pakistan's carpet exports declined from $270 million in 2004-2005 to $251 million in 2005-06 and are expected to see the downtrend by 19 percent during the first six months of the current fiscal year.
