Sewers are annoyed with Wal-Mart's decision to end the sale of cut fabrics, as they have to visit Greenville and Goldsboro to buy cut fabrics. Company took this decision last month to shift focus on opening new craft centers like the Kinston outlet.
Sources informed that the decision was taken to serve consumers in a better way by offering only relevant items. Despite selling of cut fabrics has been stopped, Kinston store will supply sewing machines, yarn, thread and needles.
Cut fabrics have become a specialized sector in the region. Wal-Mart's decision has left the sale of these fabrics limited to private stores.
Kinston's sewing community is facing a miserable situation now. Lenoir Community College's sewing classes will be badly affected due to the move.
