Taizhou city's exports of sewing machines grow

Industrial sewing machines manufactured in Taizhou city are sold in over 106 countries.

In 2006, export value of sewing machine accounted for about 70 percent of industry of Zhejiang province, a surge of 19.7 percent.

However, non-auto industrial sewing machines accounted for 69.6 percent of total exports.

Majority of the machines are exported to countries such as Brazil, India and Indonesia.

Taizhou city exported 289,000 pieces of sewing machines in above three countries, accounted for 29.6 percent of sewing machines industry.

During this period, industry by exporting 976,000 units of sewing machines generated income worth US $160 million, a hike of 19.6 percent and 19.7 percent respectively.
