Govt's propositions to speed up economic activities

A meeting was organized between the Bangladesh Garment Manufacturers and Exporters Association (BGMEA) led by President S M Fazlul Hoque and Chief Adviser of the Bangladesh Government Dr Fakhrudidn Ahmed yesterday.
According to Dr Fakhrudidn, Government has made some propositions to improve economic activities by eliminating all the obstacles.
In order to solve the shipping problems, Government has proposed privatisation of Chittagong seaport and set up a new-mooring container terminal.
The Government has also recommended some price-control mechanisms and plans to revive the garment industries which are showing losses.
To share power-load management, staggering holidays will be allotted in different garment zones and amendments will be made to the Foreign Exchange Regulation.
These propositions were appreciated by BGMEA leaders.
