CPH Vision's show - with lots of rawness and attractive black design drew a full house each day. Designers' Nest is firmly established as a concept, attracting a lot of press coverage, and has an audience all its own. HRH Crown Princess Mary selected a winner for the Designers' Nest Prize - Sarah Törnqvist of Beckmans Designskole, Stockholm, (picture) with her pretty, draped collection in grey, inspired by the way we drape towels around us after playing sport.
Close runners-up were black drapes by Sofia-Li Gustafsson, another student of Beckmans and by Kalle Riihivainio of the University of Art and Design, Helsinki, who presented menswear in the Urban streetwear style inspired by the classic gentleman.
Vision Lab in Råhuset beside the hall had many attractive collections on display. As always, visitors had to be pointed towards new items, but after they had been through the hall and pavilion with a fine-toothed comb, many still made a beeline for Vision's new "laboratory". Elliot Mann reported very good days and several new customers.
Once again, it was noticeable that CPH Vision is a writing, working fair. There are fewer browsers-only and there is more action and business done here than at other fairs round about us. We're pleased about that and we hope that these latest days will help to maintain our position as the fashion metropolis of Northern Europe.
