Shandong textile economy achieves new records in 2006

Shandong textile industry achieved new record heights in various economic indicators in 2006. From January to November, Shandong's total textile industrial output value amounted to 344.1 billion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 32.4 percent and realized profit of 17.77 billion yuan, a year-on-year growth of 40.3 percent. Export value registered US $11.17 billion, an increase of 15 percent.
Total industrial output value during the same period was 4226 above-scale enterprises in textile and garment industry was 344.1 billion yuan, up 32.4 percent. Industrial added value was 94.3 billion yuan, an increase of 28.2 percent. Marketing sales rate reached 98.3 percent, up 0.3 percent. The annual industrial output value is expected to be 375 billion yuan, industrial added value is expected to be 103.5 billion yuan, up 27 percent and 28 percent over the previous year, respectively.
From January-November 2006, above-scale textile and garment enterprises realized a sales income of 337.1 billion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 35.5 percent, achieved profits and tax of 30 billion yuan, up 40.4 percent. Of which, profit was 17.77 billion yuan, up 40.3 percent. The annual sales income is expected to reach 370 billion yuan, up 35 percent, profit and tax are expected to be 32.8 billion yuan, an increase of 40 percent. Of which, profit is expected to be 19 billion yuan, an increase of 40 percent.
From January to November 2006, textile and garment exports created $11.17 billion, an increase of 15 percent, accounting for 22.9 percent of the total exports in the province, an increase of 3.6 percent.
Textile exports were $5.54 billion, an increase of 17.2 percent. Garment exports were $5.63 billion, a year-on-year increase of 12.8 percent. Exports to Japan, South Korea, the US, the EU and other major countries and regions indicated a growth of more than 12 percent. The annual export value is expected to reach $12.3 billion, an increase of 16 percent.
