Apparel Sourcing Show to feature DR-CAFTA's first year

Since 1991, the Apparel Sourcing Show is the only international show specialized in the apparel and textile industry in the DR-CAFTA region. Fifteen years of success as the premiere trade show for the textile and apparel industry for the Central American and Caribbean region, the 16th edition of the Apparel Sourcing Show (APSS) is scheduled for April 17 to 19, 2007.

The coming show will highlight the new opportunities and challenges brought by the now-implemented U.S.-Central America and Dominican Republic Free Trade Agreement (DR-CAFTA).

The April Apparel Sourcing Show offers an excellent opportunity to take stock of CAFTA's first full year for El Salvador, Honduras and Nicaragua since the “rolling implementation” began in March (El Salvador) and April (Honduras and Nicaragua) of 2006.

Last edition of the APSS attracted more than 4,500 attendees from over 20 countries and afforded 178 exhibitors to showcase their wares and network with existing and potential clients. This year's activities will include:

International Exhibit Floor - An ideal platform for companies with established business in the region to solidify relationships with existing customers as well as to reach new potential clients. Those companies new to sourcing in the region will find opportunities to explore the full range of DR-CAFTA benefits – from regional yarnsand fabric suppliers, to trims and accessories including Mexican firms eagerly anticipating the implementation of DR-CAFTA's cumulation benefits.
