KRISHI EXPO 2007, the national exposition on agriculture, was inaugurated by Secretary, Agriculture & Cooperation, Dr. P.K. Mishra. The theme of the event this year is 'Sustainable Livelihood Through Increased Productivity'.
The five-day event to showcasing latest developments in the field of agriculture, and technologies and products available for farmers. A number of institutions and organisations including the National Horticulture Board, Coconut Development Board, MANAGE, NIAM, NCDC, NAFED, NSC, DMS, Mother Dairy, SFAC, NCPAH, NOVOD Board, Agriculture Insurance Company and ATMAs are participating in the EXPO. 22 States will also participating.
Among the main focus areas on which detailed information and guidance will be available include: - • Soil test lab . Vermi-composting • Seed Village Programme . Tissue culture • Gender friendly tools . Zero Tillage • Bio-pesticide . Kisan Call Centre • Timely sowing and harvesting . Storage-model of zero energy cool chamber • Grading and cleaning . Processing (turmeric and chilli) • Marketing:Agmarknet . Use of ICT in agriculture Six seminars on the following themes are being organized on 22, 23 and 24th February 2007:- • Marketing Intervention by Woman Farmers • Role of Farm Women in Storage • Organic Farming • Bio-technology • Increasing Productivity in Rice • Increasing Productivity in Pulses
Krishi Expo-2007 is being organized in Agriculture Pavilion and Haryana Pavilion (Hall No. 2-5) in Pragati Maidan, New Delhi. There is no entry fee for visiting the event.
