Tests of textile compatibility of TENCEL

TENCEL put to the test - The number of people with sensitive skin is rising constantly. TENCEL is the perfect fiber for sensitive skin. The skin-calming effect of TENCEL was tested and confirmed by people with sensitive skin. They attest that wearing TENCEL textiles leads to a significantly higher wellbeing.

Thus in a study with 30 patients suffering from neurodermatitis respectively psoriasis, Univ.-Prof. T. L. Diepgen studied clothing with TENCEL which is commercially available in terms of its compatibility. The result was convincing:
• 90 % of the patients indicated that TENCEL stands out due to its excellent skin compatibility
• 93 % indicated that TENCEL feels smooth and cool
• 89 % indicated that TENCEL reveals an excellent heat regulation

Sensitive skin – topical around the globe - TENCEL is being tested around the globe to take account of regional and climatic differences and living conditions. Tests are currently being conducted in the USA, Japan and Korea. The results are expected to be finalized this year. The reactions from the wearers themselves are already available.

The Spanish baby clothing manufacturers, Cambrass, conducted their own study in a children's clinic in Madrid and here again the result speaks for itself: wearing TENCEL supports the medical treatment of neurodermatitis to a measurable extent.

Another example is the Taiwanese designer, Florence Liu. She designed clothing of TENCEL for her own daughter, who suffers from neurodermatitis. This immediately relieved the symptoms of the illness. Florence Liu wished to share these positive effects with other parents, so she started a blog and created the AID brand in which TENCEL is used as the main material for baby clothing.
