The Republic of Uzbekistan occupies vast territories in the very middle of the Central Asia, and in the "heart" of the Great Silk Road. This land is considered to be one of the hearths of the most ancient civilizations. Its history, original unique beauty and colors left their imprint on traditions and modern trends in the art of clothes design and creation of fashionable style.

Many centuries of cultivation of the most ecologically safe raw material - cotton, and gradual increase of its domestic processing predestined the place of Uzbekistan in the global market of textiles. The population of Central Asia exceeds 57 mln., 27 mln. of which reside in Uzbekistan, making it the biggest consumer market in Central Asia.

Most of the modern Uzbek textile and apparel enterprises have achieved the premium quality of their products and work for overseas markets, exporting their production mainly to Europe, USA and CIS countries. Many of them find new customers by participating in the large-scale international exhibitions, organized by well-known world event managing companies.

At the same time, local producers, mainly spinning and knitting mills cannot satisfy the essential needs of the market and population in the part of many textile products and their components, items of fashion and design, not produced domestically. Special demand is observed for high quality woven fabrics, garments and accessories, home textiles, textile harberdashery, products made of wool, leather and fur, which are being mainly imported.

Therefore the foreign producers of these products have a perfect chance to occupy a new niche in this market and expand their exporting activity in the Central Asian direction.
