2007 Latin America Regional Meeting will be held in Asuncion, Paraguay on April 16-19, 2007 hosted by Arasy and Altervida.

If you are currently sourcing organic cotton, are interested in supporting the regional development of sustainable agriculture or looking to work within the organic textiles manufacturing sector in Latin America, this meeting will be of interest.

During this unique regional meeting, you will have the opportunity to meet with colleagues from regional and global companies from every part of the supply chain; organic farmers from Paraguay, Peru and Brazil; as well as key regional leaders of environmental and social non-profit organizations.

Since 2002, the organic cotton market has seen double digit growth, and now stands at approximately $500 million in global sales. This market is projected to grow to $2 billion by 2010, as more consumers around the world learn about the social and environmental value of organic farming and have more products to choose from in the places where they shop.

Paraguay and the region are interesting beyond organic cotton; in particular, if you are a multi-retailer using organic cotton and also sourcing organic food crops, then you will be interested in how Paraguay has pioneered the marketing and export of organic rotation crops from the region.
