Eco-friendly fabrics rule Paris Texworld!

Texworld concluded in Paris on 23 February on a high note and saw many new and emerging trends in fabrics.

Consumers, designers and inturn manufacturers are warming upto eco-friendly products rapidly.

Just a year or two back, green-fabric was restricted to cotton, today, innovative fruit and vegetable fibres have come into limelight.

Paris got a glimpse of variety of new and renewed fabrics from soybean protein fibre to bamboo blends and ramie fibre.

Texworld attracted participation from over 830 exhibitors, more than half of which were from Asia.

KG Denim Limited is one of the first companies in India to produced organic cotton.

“It was too early at the time. Now people have realized that organic is natural and environment-friendly. It's up to 30 percent more expensive but there's a growing niche market for the upper-middle classes. Demand for organic cotton is gaining momentum.”, says Ram Srinivasan, General Manager.
