Among the positive and negative post-budget comments, Rajeev Tajeja, Managing Director, Evinix gives his mixed views on Union Budget 2007-2008.
Giving his comments exclusively to Fibre2fashion, Taneja said that there is no advantage and disadvantage gained through this budget.
There are no retarders by the Government. The budget can help the yarn producers to grow more.
Budget is going to give benefit to the processing sector and not the garment sector. For the retail sector like accessories we don't see much advantages as the custom duties have remain same.
Import duties have become higher so we were quite disappointed.
We were expecting some advantages for accessories sector.
Footwear has got very less advantage from the budget.
We have to look at strategies for moving to domestic supply. We are also looking forward for special SEZ.
There are no advantages and no disadvantages from this budget.
