While ethylene is the simplest member of the olefinic hydrocarbon series and one of the most important raw materials of the organic chemical industry, propylene is major raw material to manufacture resins, fibers and plastics. Prices of propylene on February 14, 2007 were as follows:-
Far East region propylene prices:
FOB South Korea at US $1060 per ton. FOB Japan at $1050 per ton
Propylene prices in Europe:
Propylene (polymerization), FD Northwest Europe, at Euro 875-885 per metric ton. Propylene (polymerization), CIF Northwest Europe, at Euro 865-875 per metric ton.
Far East region propylene prices:
FOB South Korea at US $1060 per ton. FOB Japan at $1050 per ton
