Wenzhou city halts production of winter shoes

This winter, cold waves failed to boost sales of the winter shoe as expected by the industry.
Even production of these shoes has been shutdown early and many manufacturers have started to produce shoes for next season.
Certain factories are carrying out their production in semi-suspension mode.
The reason behind the decline of sales is short span of winter. People earlier used to have two to three pairs of winter shoes, but now they feel that only single pair of shoe is good enough for whole season.
Business carried out by leather factories is also very dismal. In Wenzhou city, prices of leather have increased by about two Yuan per foot.
Even though factories are receiving orders from certain places, they are not willing to produce more of winter shoes.
