Export of textiles & carpets touch $1bn this year

Speaking to the media yesterday, Hushang Qaderian, Director General, Weaving Industry Department, Ministry of Industries and Mines stated that export of textiles and hand-woven carpets for first three quarters of present Iranian year is worth US $1 billion.
Current Iranian year began on March 21, 2006 and it will end on March 20, 2007. As against the same period of 2006, export figure has gone up 15 percent.
Qaderian added that export of apparel and handmade carpets is anticipated to surge 20 percent from past Iranian year to $1.2 billion by end of current one.
