In a board meeting of Export Development Fund (EDF), chaired by Federal Minister for Commerce Humayun Akhtar Khan, authorities decided to stop the funds provided to National Institute of Leather Technology (NILT).

Pakistan Tanners Association had earlier asked for fund of PKR4 million from the EDF for training and development of human resource.
This was agreed in principle of EDF board meeting but refused in the next meeting itself.
